Monday, March 31, 2014 ~ Fanancy Leaves Bright & Early For His Meeting In DC Today ~ Dad left bright and early this morning for his flight to DC. He has a airline safety meeting, and also plans to have dinner with Tiffany, Chris, Dave and Becky for Chris and Dad's birthdays. Mom and Tracy were sad and disappointed that they could not accompany then. Mom Goes To Veronica's Warm Yoga Class This Afternoon ~ Mom had a great Warm Yoga practice with Veronica at Awaken Hot Yoga Studio in Lighthouse Point. The temperature was perfect, and the flow was challenging and fun. Aunt Diane Comes To Stay With Mom & Tracy This Evening ~ Aunt Diane came over and brought a yummy salad fron the Sicilian Oven for dinner. It was really good. Sunday, March 30, 2014 ~ Wilmene Is Off Today - Mom Works With Darlene ~ Wilmene had the day off today, so Mom worked with Darlene to get Tracy ready for the day. Wilmene has been working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, so she was ready for a little break. Tracy Has The Day Off From Her Hippotherapy Session This Morning At Bit-By-Bit At Sand & Spurs In Pompano Beach ~Tracy had the day off from Hippotherapy today. Susan was away at a medical hippotherapy training all weekend. Tracy, Mom and Dad spent the day outside by the pool. It was a pretty day, with low humidity. Saturday, March 29, 2014 ~ Happy Birthday Fanancy ~ Mom & Dad Go To Ron's Bikram Hot Yoga Practice This Morning At Bikram Of Boca Raton ~ Mom & Dad enjoyed Ron's Bikram Hot Yoga practice at Bikram of Boca Raton. Bikram is a great compliment with Vinyasa, and allows for healing and holding the postures. Dee Comes To Do Physical & Massage Therapy With Tracy This Afternoon ~ Dee came to do Physical and Massage therapy with Tracy this afternoon. He ranged and stretched Tracy's major muscle groups on the therapy mat, and then it was time for some trunk and head control exercises on the therapy bench. Tracy is doing such a good job during her therapy sessions. Mom & Dad Head To Palm Beach For Shopping ~ Wilmene stayed with Tracy while Mom and Dad headed to Palm Beach to return Mom's jeans to Desigual at the new outlet mall. The stores are really awesome, and Mom got a cute dress, purse and hat. Mom & Dad Go To The Sunglass Hut This Afternoon On Worth Avenue ~ Mom and Dad exchanged Mom's Channel sunshades for some Maui Jim's for Mom and Dad. They met Uncle Johnny at Starbucks for coffee, tea and scones. It was great to visit with Uncle Johnny. Mom & Dad Go To The Old Key Lime House For Dinner For Dad's Birthday ~ Mom and Dad had a nice dinner at The Old Key Lime House in Lantana this evening. It was really fun, even though the weather got really bad with thunder and lightening and torrential downpours. The thatched roof leaked and Mom had to move her chair to the other side of the table. She really does depend on her daily yoga practice! Tracy Wears Her Wrist Splints Today For Several Hours ~ Tracy has been doing a good job wearing her wrist splints this week. She has tolerated several hours at a time, which is good for her range of motion and joint preservation. Mom, Dad & Tracy Watch Hawaii Five-O This Evening ~ Mom, Dad, and Tracy watched Hawaii Five-O and some of their other favorite shows that they recorded this week. Thursday, March 27, 2014 ~ Mom Goes To Spinning At The Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club This Morning ~ Mom had a great Spinning class this morning with Jenn at the Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club. Jenn is awesome and the class was full; not one bike left. Mom Had A Fun Time At The Women's Club Luncheon At The Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club With Her Neighbor Gail ~ Mom had a fun time at the Women's Club Luncheon at the Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club. The theme was Hawaiian Luau and the entertainment was Nonni, the Hawaiian dancer who used to perform at such places as the Mai Kai, the Rony Plaza, and the Yankee Clipper. She did several hula dances and then invited people from the audience to come up for lessons. Mom had to leave early because she had an appointment at Vista VW for her one month inspection/service. Marcus Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He worked with Tracy on the peanut therapy ball, while Tracy performed her head and trunk control/strengthening exercises. Marcus applies some resistance on the back of Tracy's head while she pushes back on his hand to stabilize her head. She is really developing her head and trunk control, by strengthening her neck and trunk muscles. After the strengthening portion of her session, Tracy gets passive range of motion stretching by Marcus while relaxing in her bed. Marcus stated that Tracy's right shoulder seemed tight, and that Tracy winced when he stretched and ranged her right shoulder. Mom Cooks Broiled Salmon & Asparagus This Evening For Dinner ~ Mom and Dad enjoyed broiled salmon and roasted asparagus for dinner this evening. It was all good. Mom, Dad, & Tracy Watch Favorite Shows This Evening ~ Why oh why are all of Mom and Dad's favorite shows on the same evening? So ridiculous. It was just what she needed; hot, challenging, and steamy! Ketteline Is Still Out ~ Looks Like She Will Be Out Until After The Baby ~ Ketteline is still out and will be unable to work until she delivers the baby. She saw her doctor last week, who recommended that she stay home until after the baby is born. He will not write her a letter stating that she can continue to work. We are really going to miss her, but want her to take care of herself and her baby. Mom Goes To Lynzy's Warm Yoga Practice This Afternoon At Awaken Hot Yoga In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom had a great Warm Yoga practice this afternoon at Awaken Hot Yoga in Lighthouse Point. She had never been to Lynzy's class and it was a lot of fun! What a great class! Tracy & Wilmene Spend Some Time Outside By The Pool In The Sunshine ~ Tracy and Wilmene spent some quality time outside by the pool in the sunshine. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 ~ Mom Goes To Jimmy's Hot Vinyasa Class This Morning At The Barkan Method In Fort Lauderdale ~ Mom had a great Hot Vinyasa practice this morning at the Barkan Method in Fort Lauderdale. The heat and humidity was amazing, and the energy was through the roof. Mom Drops Luca Off For His Surgery On His Right Rear Paw This Morning ~ Mom had to drop Luca off at Acacia Animal Clinic this morning for his surgery on the growth between his toes of his right rear paw. It had gotten really bigger over the past several months, and Dr. Stevens thought Luca would lose his toe. Thank goodness Dr. Stevens was able to keep Luca's toe! Now let's hope that the pathology report comes back negative for cancer. Fingers crossed and say those prayers for a quick recovery. Marcus Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He and Wilmene transferred Tracy to the therapy bench so Tracy could work on trunk and head control. Tracy did a good job and worked very hard. Then it was time to transfer Tracy to her bed where Marcus performed passive range of motion exercises of Tracy's major muscle groups. He commented that Tracy was tight, could be due to the fact that her last Botox was last June. We have an appointment on April 14th for Dr. Rubin to inject 400 units (500 units less than her normal dose). Mom, Dad, & Tracy Watch The Voice This Evening ~ Mom, Dad and Tracy watched The Voice this evening. The judges are really doing a good job this season; great chemistry and great talent. Monday, March 24, 2014 ~Mom & Uncle Johnny Go To Spinning This Morning At The Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club With Jenn ~Mom and Uncle Johnny had a great, challenging Spinning class this morning at the Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club in Lighthouse Point with Jenn. Wow! She really creates a challenging, upbeat and fun Spin ride! The group energy is amazing and fun! Mom & Uncle Johnny Go To Starbuck's For Hot Tea & Scones ~ Mom and Uncle Johnny went to Starbuck's after Spinning for some hot tea and scones. Mom ran around and did her errands, and Uncle Johnny kept her company. Mom & Uncle Johnny Go In The Hot Tub This Afternoon ~ Even though it was a rainy day, Mom and Uncle Johnny managed to get in some hot tub time. Thank goodness the hot tub is back working! We sure did miss it. Sunday, March 23, 2014 ~ Mom, Tracy, Dad, Wilmene, & Darlene Take Tracy To Her Hippotherapy Session This Morning At Bit-By-Bit At Sand & Spurs In Pompano Beach ~ Tracy had a hard time during her Hippotherapy lesson this morning. She was really tight and her shoulders were pulling forward so much that Dad and Susan could barely keep her up on Chubbie! Her pectorals are really tight, most likely a result of not being able to get her Botox injections since last June 28th. Medicare has refused coverage for this medically necessary treatment which allows her to get optimal range of motion in her upper extremities. Tracy has an appointment April 14th for half her needed dose of 800 units. Dr. Rubin will only allow her to receive 400 units at her next appointment, because of the restrictions imposed by Medicare. .Aunt Candy & Tanya Leave For Their Return Flight To Merrimack This Evening ~ It was a fun week, but it sure went by fast. We made so many different types of Nutribullet drinks, and ate really healthy all week! we already miss them both, and can't wait until they come back! Dad decided not to go to Bikram this morning, so Mom was able to go to a Vinyasa class today. She really misses her Vinyasa practice, but sure does enjoy her Saturday yoga dates with Dad. They spent the day at the beach, pool, and at the new Outlet Mall in Palm Beach Gardens. They are having a great time in South Florida and have had beautiful weather. They are not looking forward to going home on Sunday, especially since it is freezing cold in New Hampshire. Sunday, March 16, 2014 ~ Happy Birthday Cousin Chip! ~ Mom Cancels Tracy's Hippotherapy Session With Susan Because Susan Is Visiting Her Mom In Northern Florida ~ Mom had to cancel Tracy's Hippotherapy session with Susan this morning because Susan was visiting her Mom in northern Florida and is unable to make it. Looks like we will give it another try next Sunday. Mom, Dad, Tracy, Aunt Candy, Tanya, Aunt Diane, Jeff, Uncle Johnny, Kimberlee & Amanda Go On The Boat This Afternoon ~ Everyone had a great day on the boat, despite the wind and rougher seas in the Intracoastal Waterway. Unfortunately, the bow thruster was not working, which made the wind gusts that much more threatening. Dad did a great job driving the boat, even without the bow thruster. We were unable to anchor in Lake Boca due to the high winds, and the anchor not holding on the sandy bottom. We cruised North on the Intracoastal as far as Boynton Beach. It was a beautiful ride. Chip Joins Us For Mass This Evening ~ Uncle Johnny said Mass this evening for the family when we returned from our boat excursion. After Mass, we had a little birthday cake for Tracy's birthday. Saturday, March 15, 2014 ~ Mom & Dad Go To Bikram Hot Yoga This Morning At Boca Bikram With Hillary ~ Hillary taught an awesome class this morning at Boca Bikram in Boca Raton. It was nice and hot and humid, and the energy was really perfect. Mom is enjoying her Saturday Bikram practice with Dad! Ninety minutes of heat, humidity, and two sets of the 26 postures. Mom, Tracy, Aunt Candy, & Tanya Hang Out By The Pool This Afternoon ~ Mom, Tracy, Aunt Candy and Tanya enjoyed hanging out by the pool this afternoon. It was a beautiful day, and the sun was really warm yet the air was dry with low humidity. The hot tub is still not heating up, even though Rob replaced to valves. He will be back Monday to replace the heat sensor. Hopefully that will do the trick. Tracy Vomits Twice This Afternoon ~ Tracy vomited about 30 cc's twice this afternoon. She brought up a bunch of mucus and felt better after that. Mom is thinking that the Cipro which she started last Thursday might be upsetting her stomach. Mom, Candy & Tanya Go Shopping At Publix This Afternoon ~ Mom, Candy and Tanya went to Publix to order food for tomorrow's boat trip. They ordered party platters and bought lots of healthy foods to snack on and make Nutrablasts in the Nutribullet while they are visiting: kale, spinach, collard greens, frozen fruit, bananas, etc. Tracy Has Physical & Massage Therapy With Dee This Afternoon ~ Tracy had a good Physical and Massage Therapy session with Dee this afternoon. He worked manually with massage therapy, stretching and ranging all of her major muscle groups. Then it was time to get Tracy seated on the therapy bench for some neck and trunk strengthening exercises. She is working hard, and really responds to Dee's tactile cues. We are very proud of Tracy's progress, even though it is slow and incremental. Friday, March 14, 2014 ~Mom Goes To Mrs. Papp's Funeral At St. Gabriel's Catholic Church In Lauderdale By The Sea ~ Mom went to Mrs. Papp's funeral this morning at St. Gabriel's Catholc Church instead of her morning hot yoga practce. It was a sad ceremony, but the pastor gave a really good sermon. Maybe we will go back to this church for our weekly Sunday masses. It felt good to be able to understand what the priest was saying in his sermon. Mom & Dad Cook Omelettes For Dinner This Evening ~ Mom and Dad had a delicious omelette for dinner this evening, since they are not allowed to eat meat on Fridays during Lent. It was so good, with cheese, baby peppers, and red and white baby potatoes. Mom & Dad Watch Hawaii Five-O This Evening ~ Mom and Dad watched one of their favorite shows: hawaii Five-O this evening. Melanie Griffith is doing a guest appearance, which makes it even more fun! Auntie Candy & Tanya Arrive This Evening From The Frozen Tundra (New Hampshire) For Spring Break ~ It is so nice to have Auntie Candy and Tanya visiting us from New Hampshire during their Spring Break week. We have some fun stuff planned for their stay. Hope the weather cooperates so that they have a good time and get a good tan. It is still freezing and snowing in New Hampshire! Yuck! Mom Heads To Fresh Market This Morning After Yoga ~ Mom made a pit stop at Fresh Market this morning for some organic greens to use in her new Nutribullet. She really loves the way the juicer uses all of the greems and fruits, with no waste. Marcus Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He worked with Tracy on the peanut therapy ball, while Tracy performed her head and trunk control/strengthening exercises. Marcus applies some resistance on the back of Tracy's head while she pushes back on his hand to stabilize her head. She is really developing her head and trunk control, by strengthening her neck and trunk muscles. After the strengthening portion of her session, Tracy gets passive range of motion stretching by Marcus while relaxing in her bed. Mom, Dad, & Tracy Watch All Of Their Favorite Shows This Evening ~ Why oh why are all of Mom and Dad's favorite shows on the same evening? So ridiculous. Suits starts this evening too! Wednesday, March 12, 2014 ~ Ash Wednesday ~ Mom Goes To Keri's Hot Flow Class This Morning At Awaken Hot Yoga Studio In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom had a great Hot Yoga practice with Keri this morning at Awaken Hot Yoga Studio in Lighthouse Point. It was just what she needed; hot, challenging, and steamy! Tracy, Wilmene & Ketteline Enjoy The Sunshine Outside By The Pool This Afternoon ~ Tracy enjoyed a beautiful day outside by the pool. She loves to be outside with the waterfall and warm sunshine. Tracy Wears Her Hand Splints Today ~ Tracy is doing a good job tolerating her splints for several hours during the day. Ketteline checks Tracy's skin every 20-30 minutes, making sure she has no pressure points. Mom Is Enjoying Her Nutribullet Pro ~ Mom is really enjoying her Nutribullet Pro and is having fun making all kinds of Nutriblasts. Aunt Candy talked her into getting one, and she is glad she did. Dad Returns From Laguardia This Evening ~ Dad was happy to be home after two long days of traveling on planes. Looks like we will have another early night. This is the last month for him to travel to Philadelpia. Mom Goes To Jimmy's Hot Vinyasa Practice This Morning At The Barkan Method Of Hot Yoga Of Ft. Lauderdale ~ Mom had another great Hot Vinyasa practice this morning with Jimmy at the Barkan Method of Hot Yoga in Ft. Lauderdale. It was hot and steamy in the room, with awesome energy! Tracy Wears Her Splints For Several Hours This Afternoon ~ Tracy wore her splints for several hours this afternoon. Ketteline checks her skin several times an hour to be sure there is no skin breakdown. Monday, March 10, 2014 ~ Mom Drops Off Tracy's Urine & Stool Specimens At Broward Health ~ North For Analysis ~ Mom dropped off Tracy's urine and stool specmens at the Lab at Broward Health ~ North this morning. We are hoping that they come back normal, so Tracy will not need any more medications. Mom Goes To Veronica's Warm Yoga Class This Afternoon ~ Mom was ready for Veronica's Warm Yoga class this afternoon, after a very busy morning. She really looks forward to her Yoga practice. Tracy, Wilmene & Ketteline Sit Outside By The Pool This Afternoon ~ It was a beautiful afternoon and the girls and Tracy enjoyed sitting outside by the pool. Sunday, March 9, 2014 ~ Tracy's Hippotherapy Is Cancelled This Morning ~ Susan cancelled Tracy's Hippotherapy session this morning due to an elbow injury. She wanted another week for it to heal. Mom & Dad Finally Clean Out The Garage This Morning ~ Mom and Dad got into the garage to clean and organize this morning. Tracy's Hippotherapy was cancelled due to Susan's elbow injury. Hopefully they will be able to get Mom's new Beetle convertible in the garage once they get everything cleaned out. Ketteline Gives Tracy A Manicure & Pedicure This Afternoon ~ Ketteline gave Tracy a pedicure and manicure this afternoon. She does such a good job on Tracy's nails. Mom & Dad Catch Up On Paperwork This Afternoon ~ Mom and Dad caught up on paperwork this afternoon. Mom ia happy to see that Tracy's acne has finally begun to clear up. Wilmene & Darlene Obtain A Stool Specimen From Tracy Today For Analysis ~ Wilmene and Darlene collected a stool specimen Mom & Dad Go To Bikram Hot Yoga With Ron In Boca Raton This Morning ~ Mom and Dad had a great hot and humid Bikram Yoga practice with Ron this morning at Boca Bikram Yoga. It was a really hot and steamy class with lots of good energy. Dad Works On Taxes All Day Today ~ Dad locked himself in the office and worked on taxes all day long. He made a good start but has a lot more work to do. Dee Comes To Do Physical Therapy with Tracy This Afternoon ~ Dee came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this afternoon. He started with manual massage and passive range of motion on the therapy mat. Then, he and Mom got Tracy positioned on the therapy bench for trunk and neck strengthening exercises. She is a little tight, especially since her last Botox injection was in June 2013. Mom made an appointment for Tracy to get a maximum of 400 units by Dr. Rubin at the Design Neuroscience Center on April 14 at 3 PM. Medicare finally paid for Tracy's last Botox treatment last June, so Dr. Rubin's office agreed to another 400 units in mid-April. Friday, March 7, 2014 ~ Mom Goes To Hot Yoga With Veronica At Awaken Hot Yoga Studio In Lighthouse Point This Morning ~ Mom had a great hot and steamy Hot Yoga practice with Veronica at Awaken Hot Yoga Studio in Ligthouse Point this morning. It was just what she needed after a busy week. Mom, Wilmene & Tracy Go To An Appointment With Dr. Sara Buchstein At Coral Springs Medical Center This Afternoon ~ Tracy had an appointment with Dr. Sara Buchstein, Infectious Disease Specialist to resolve Tracy's recurring C-Diff issues. She requested new stool and urine specimens for culture and sensitivity before prescribing any new medications. Tracy has already had two rounds of Vancamycin 125 mgs, four times a day, and one round of Flagyl. Dr. Buchstein recommended adding another dose of pre and probiotics per day to Tracy's supplements. (Mom started this today at 5 PM.) Mom & Dad Watch Some Of Their DVRed Shows This Evening ~ Mom and Dad caught up on their favorite shows this evening. Mom Heads To Fresh Market This Morning After Yoga ~ Mom made a pit stop at Fresh Market this morning for some organic greens to use in her new Nutribullet. She really loves the way the juicer uses all of the greems and fruits, with no waste. Monday, March 3, 2014 ~ Mom & Tracy Get Their Hair Done This Morning ~ Kerri came to do Mom and Tracy's hair this morning. She highlighted Mom's and did her root color, and then did Tracy's allover hair color a warm caramel color. It looks so pretty! Mom Goes To Warm Yoga With Veronica This Afternoon At Awaken Hot Yoga Studio In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom was missing her Yoga fix and had to go to Veronica's Warm Yoga practice in Lighthouse Point. It was a great class with lots of heat and great energy. Veronica had everyone hold the poses which Mom really needed, especially after the challenging Spinning class this morning. Wilmene, Ketteline & Tracy Sit Outside By The Pool This Afternoon ~ The girls enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine this afternoon. The temperature was warm with high humidity and no wind. Sunday, March 2, 2014 ~ Tracy's Hippotherapy Session Is Cancelled This Morning Due To Mom & Dad Being Away ~ Mom and Dad cancelled Tracy's Hippotherapy session this morning since they were still in the Keys. Things should be back to normal next Sunday. Tiffany & Chris Leave For Jupiter To See The Marlins Play The Nats In Spring Training Game ~ Tiffany and Chris rented a car and drove to Jupiter to see the Marlins and Nats play in a Spring Training game. The Nats won, and the weather was perfect for a Spring preseason baseball game. After the game, they headed to Universal Studios and Disney After Dark. We are so grateful for their support in caring for Tracy so we could enjoy our weekend getaway! Mom & Dad Stop Off At The Urban Garden For Smoothies & Fresh Juices ~ Mom and Dad enjoyed a delicious Smoothie and Fresh Juice from the Urban Garden on their way home this afternoon. They had such a good time in the Keys that it was hard to come home! They sure did miss everyone, and were glad to see Tracy, Wilmene and the dogs. Mom, Dad & Tracy Watch The Oscars This Evening ~ Everyone enjoyed watching the Oscars this evening! Too bad Captain Phillips (the only movie that Mom, Dad, and Tracy saw) did not win anything. It was really cool to see Captain Phillips (Ricky) and his wife in the audience at the Oscars. Mom graduated from Winchester High School with Ricky a long, long time ago! Saturday, March 1, 2014 ~ Mom & Dad Head South On The Overseas Highway To Key West This Morning ~ Mom and Dad had a nice drive down the Keys to Key West this morning (after a stop at the bakery across the street for a Key Lime muffin and some apple crisp tarts). They drove with the top down and the heated seats fired up! What a fun car! They are really excited to spend the day in their old stomping grounds, Key West! It has been 20 years since they moved to Key West! Lots of changes. Wilmene Gives Tracy A Facial This Morning ~ Wilmene gave Tracy a Boost facial this morning. Tracy really enjoys her spa Saturdays! Mom & Dad Walk Around Key West & Have Lunch At Kelly's ~ Mom and Dad walked all around Key West and had lunch at Kelly's (McGillis) Restaurant, their old stomping grounds. They even took a mini-tour of the Little White House at Truman Annex, and headed to Mallory Square for the celebratory sunset1 They had some conch fritters at The Ocean Key House Pier, and found Blue Heaven, one of their favorite spots. Key West is still as beautiful as ever! They drove by there two old homes, and reminisced a lot. Such fun times and great memories. Mom & Dad Have A Late Dinner At The Cheeca Lodge This Evening ~ Mom and Dad had another great dinner outside under the stars at the Cheeca Lodge.
