Saturday, February 28th, 2009 ~ Mom Goes To Hard Body Yoga This Morning With Diane ~ Mom had a great practice this morning in Hard Body Yoga with Diane. The temperature was super hot! Just the way Mom likes it! Dad & Tiffany Go To Traditional Hot Yoga This Morning ~ Tiffany and Dad enjoyed their Traditional Hot Yoga practice this morning. It is the class that is most like Bikram! They both really enjoy the traditional 26 poses! Tracy, Mamaw, Papaw, Mom, Dad, & Tiffany Hang Out By The Pool This Afternoon ~ Everyone relaxed outside by the pool today to soak up some sunshine. Mom, Dad, & Tiffany relaxed in the hot tub this afternoon. It was a beautiful day! Tracy Has Speech Therapy With Aimee This Afternoon ~ Aimee came by to do Speech Therapy with Tracy this afternoon. Aimee started with oral motor stimulation exercises with Tracy. She used the Nuk brush and worked with her mouth, tongue and inner cheeks. Then she stretched her cheeks and lips with a face cloth. Next, she used the facial stimulator on her cheeks. Then, Aimee went right to the Dynavox to show Mamaw some of the cute things she had set up for Tracy. Tracy hit her switch which sent the Dynavox to the Friends & Family section. After a few tries, Tracy hit the switch to talk about Mamaw! The automated voice said: "Let me tell you about Mamaw. She is known by friends and family as the "mouth of the south!" OMG, was Mom in trouble! LOL! It was funny! Mamaw got a big kick out of that. It looked like Tracy did too! Everyone Watches LSU Basketball This Afternoon ~ Everyone enjoyed watching LSU basketnall this afternoon. The Tigers beat Kentucky in the final seconds of the game! Dad Grills Some Steaks On The Grill & Mom Cooks Some Corn On The Cob ~ Everyone enjoyed steaks on the grill this evening. Tiffany cut up tricolored peppers with garlic and onions and Dad grilled them too! After dinner, everyone watched a movie! They had a great time catching up! Friday, February 27th, 2009 ~ Mom Goes To Hot Flow Yoga This Morning With Veronica ~ Mom had a great practice this morning in Hot Flow Yoga with Veronica. The temperature was super hot! Just the way Mom likes it! Mom & Tiffany Take Mamaw To The Hair Salon For Her Appointment ~ Mamaw got her hair styled at the hair salon in Lighthouse Point this afternoon. Then Tiffany, Mom and Mamaw hit Macy's for a quick shopping fix. Tracy, Mamaw, Papaw, Mom, Dad, & Tiffany Hang Out By The Pool This Afternoon ~ Everyone relaxed outside by the pool today to soak up some sunshine. Mom, Dad, & Tiffany relaxed in the hot tub this afternoon. It was a beautiful day! Tracy Has Her Birthday Dinner This Evening At The Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club ~ Everyone had a great dinner and celebrated Tracy's birthday this evening at the yacht club. Tracy got so many beautiful gifts! She had a wonderful birthday with fifteen of her family and friends. It was great to have Mamaw and Papaw here, and the rest of the family who wasn't able to be here was truly missed! Mom & Tiffany Go To Hot Vinyasa Yoga This Morning With Sheila ~ The girls enjoyed a very challenging yoga practice this morning with Sheila. The temperature was super hot! Just the way Mom likes it! Tracy Eats 2 Ounces Of Papaya Yogurt This Afternoon ~ Wilmene fed Tracy about 2 to 4 ounces of her favorite papaya yogurt this afternoon. She is doing such a good job swallowing and moving her tongue and jaw. Way to go Tracy! Tracy Vomits 6 To 8 Ounces This Afternoon ~ . Tracy vomited 6 to 8 ounces this afternoon. Guess she was excited about her birthday! Mamaw & Papaw Arrive Safely From Lousiana This Afternoon ~ Mamaw and Papaw made it safely to Florida from Louisiana this afternoon. They had a nice flight, and it is so good to have them here for Tracy's birthday! Tracy & Tania Sit Outside In The Sunshine ~ Tania read an article from Balance magazine to Tracy as they enjoyed the beautiful sunshine! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Greg This Afternoon ~ Greg came by to work with Tracy this afternoon on the therapy mat. He and Tania sat Tracy on the peanut ball for 12 minutes to work on trunk control and balance. Then they transferred her prone in quadriped over the peanut, so that she could weight-bear through her knees and hips. Greg supported Tracy's hands so that they were flat on the mat in front of the peanut. She tolerated 12 minutes in this position. Next, Greg and Tania got Tracy flat on her tummy (prone) on the mat for 20 minutes. She is working so hard and doing awesome during Physical Therapy! You go girl! Aunt Diane Comes By To Visit Tracy For Her Birthday ~ Aunt Diane came by to visit Tracy and wish her a Happy Birthday! She sure does love her spa days! Tania Shapes Tracy's Eyebrows ~ Tania shaped Tracy's eyebrows this afternoon. She does such a good job! She looks beautiful! Tania Gave Tracy A Hand & Wrist Massage ~ Tania spent some time massaging Tracy's hands and wrists this afternoon. Tracy's Physical Therapy Is Cancelled This Evening ~ Greg had to cancel Tracy's Physical Therapy session this evening due to a scheduling conflict. We sure do miss him. Tuesday, February 24th, 2009 ~ Mom & Tiffany Go For A Long Walk Through Lighthouse Point This Morning ~ Mom and Tiffany walked to Starbucks in Pompano Beach this morning. It was such a beautiful day with a cool breeze and low humidity! Wilmene Feeds Tracy 2 to 3 Ounces Of Guava Yogurt This Afternoon ~ Wilmene fed Tracy nearly 54 ccs of Guava Yogurt this afternoon before Speech Therapy. She is doing a great job moving the yogurt back and swallowing in a timely manner. Tracy Has Speech Therapy With Jodi At Nova Southeastern University This Afternoon ~ Jodi surprised Tracy with a yummy strawberry and chocolate scented candle and a cute card for Tracy's birthday! It smells so good! Then Jodi and Tracy worked on the new Dynavox Max with eye gaze capability. Jodi programmed some new activities on the Dynavox using the birthday theme. Tracy had to find the birthday cake, present, balloons, etc. with her eye gaze. She is getting more control with each session, although it takes a lot of effort on Tracy's part! She has to hold her eye gaze for a specified time, which is difficult for her. She needs to conquer her eye gaze control over the semester, and will be practicing a lot with this new machine! Monday, February 23rd, 2009 ~ Mom Goes To Hard Body Yoga This Morning With Diane ~ Mom had a great Hard Body Yoga practice this morning with Diane. The class was packed and the room was hot! What a great class! Mom was still sore from the Inversion Workshop last Saturday! Mom, Tiffany, Tania, Wilmene, & Tracy Went To See He's Just Not That Into You At The Movies This Afternoon ~ The girls headed for the movies to see He's Just Not That Into You! It was such a cute movie! The girls really enjoyed it! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Greg This Evening ~ Tracy had Physical Therapy with Greg this evening. He and Tania got Tracy on the mat to work on stretching in long sitting. Then they transferred her to the BOSU for balancing and more stretching and trunk strengthening. Tracy works so hard during her Physical Therapy sessions! She never gives up! Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 ~ Mom, Dad, Tiffany, Tracy & LuLu Meet MJ At Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club For Brunch ~ Mom and the family met Mom's long lost high school friend from 35 years ago for lunch at the LPYRC! They reunited on Face Book several months ago! Everyone enjoyed catching up over brunch! It was so nice to spend the day with MJ, reminiscing on their high school days! Mom, Dad, Tiffany & Tracy Go To The Italian Festival At St. Coleman's Church This Afternoon ~ Mom, Dad, Tiffany and Tracy went to St. Coleman's Italian Festival this afternoon to check out the festivities. They had live music, Italian food, arts and crafts and carnival rides. It was fun to see how a South Florida Italian Festival matches up to the Independence Italian Festival in Louisiana! Mmmm good! Saturday, February 21st, 2009 ~ Mom Goes To An Inversion Yoga Workshop This Afternoon ~ Mom enjoyed her Yoga Inversion Workshop this morning with Veronica and Diane. She learned how to do head stands! Awesome! Tracy Has Speech Therapy With Aimee This Afternoon ~ Aimee came by to work with Tracy on Speech Therapy this afternoon. Tracy was very alert and engaged in her therapy. Aimee began by working on her oral motor exercises. Tracy never enjoys the part when Aimee strokes her face with the wash cloth. She seems to enjoy the facial massager and Nuk brush just as much (LOL)! Then it was time to work with Tracy's Step By Step Sequential switch. Aimee recorded some conversational phrases that highlighted Tracy's birthday plans for the upcoming week. She updated Tracy on her plans for the weekend as well. Tracy did a good job hitting the switch to initiate the switch and subsequent conversation. Next, Aimee worked with Tracy on her Dynavox. Tracy scanned through the various topics using her switch, choosing several topics on command. Aimee is trying to get Tracy to use her switch to get to a specified topic on command. Tracy is getting much better with this exercise. Aimee gave Tracy a cute Hoops and YoYo card, one of her favorite cartoons! She gave Tracy some cute sand dollar earrings and some cool bracelets! (Mom and Tania told Tracy she better keep her eyes on them! The have sticky fingers! LOL!) Mom, Tiffany & Tracy Watch The Changeling & Nights Of Rodanthe This Afternoon ~ Mom, Tiffany and Tracy enjoyed watching two good movied this evening: The Changeling & Nights In Rodanthe! Mom already saw Nights In Rodanthe, but enjoyed it so much that she saw it again! Dad Returns From His AsMA Meeting In Colorado Springs This Evening ~ Dad made it back very late this evening from his AsMA meeiting in Colorado Springs. All his girls were so happy to have him home! It was a packed class with every bike taken, and two women fighting over the last bike! Too funny! After Spinning, Mom treated Aunt Diane and Tiffany to Starbucks! Tracy Eats 4 Ounces Of Her Favorite Mango Yogurt This Afternoon ~ Wilmene fed Tracy about 4 ounces of her favorite mango yogurt this afternoon. She is doing such a good job swallowing and moving her tongue and jaw. Way to go Tracy! Tiffany Gets A Massage With Fern ~ Mom dropped Tiffany off to get a massage with Fern in Lighthouse Point. She was definitely over due and enjoyed Fern's healing touch! Tracy Wears Her Yogitoes To Stretch Her Toes This Morning ~ Wilmene has been putting on Tracy's Yogitoes every morning for ten minutes to help stretch her toes. Tracy seems to be tolerating them well! Tracy Has Hippotherapy This Afternoon With Susan At Bit By Bit ~ Mom, Tiffany, Jeff, Aunt Diane, and Tania brought Tracy to Bit By Bit for her Hippotherapy session this afternoon. At first, Tracy was pretty lethargic and did not sit up well on Breezy, but then she settled in and did a great job with trunk control. Jeff stood in for Dad since he is in Colorado Springs attending a meeting with AsMA. He'll be back Saturday evening. Mom & Tiffany Get Thai For Dinner ~ Mom and Tiffany ordered tofu pad thai, beef sate, and miso soup for dinner. It was good! Then the girls watched Moulin Rouge! It is one of Tracy's favortie movies! Thursday, February 19th, 2009 ~ Mom Goes To Hot Vinyasa Yoga With Sheila This Morning ~ Mom had a great practice with Sheila this morning at Hot Vinyasa Yoga. Sheila is very tough! Tracy Has An Appointment With Dr. Tidwell At Miami Children's Hospital For Ortho Follow-up ~ Dr. Tidwell ordered some hip and shoulder x-rays for Tracy this afternoon prior to his examination. It looks like Tracy has an evulsion fracture of her left shoulder (lattisimus dorsi), most likely from an old rowing injury. He said that we should treat it with anti-inflammatories (Motrin). Her left hip looked good, no signs of arthritis or HO. He recommended 200 units of Botox in her gluteus minimus to relax her internal rotation of her left hip. Her adductor still looked relaxed from the previous alcohol block. Her right hip had no further HO. All in all, he was very pleased with her orthopedic status. Tracy has an appointment for Botox with Dr. Rubin on March 10th and will bring all documentation at that time. Dad Leaves For Colorado Springs This Afternoon ~ Dad left for his meeting in Colorado Springs this afternoon. He'll be back on Saturday evening! We miss him already! Mom, Tiffany, & Tracy Watch Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice: The Crossover Event This Evening ~ It was the conclusion of the cross-over event this evening, and the girls were front and center. Mom fought hard to keep her eyes open throughout the shows. She was pretty tired after their trip on I-95 (Yuck) to and from Miami! Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 ~ Mom Goes To Hot Flow Yoga With Diane This Morning ~ Mom had a great yoga practice this morning with Diane at Hot Flow Yoga! She is such a great yoga instructor! Mom, Tiffany, Tania, & Tracy Go To See Confessions Of A Shopaholic This Afternoon ~ Everyone enjoyed the movie: Confessions Of A Shopaholic this afternoon! It was so cute and pretty close to the book. (It seems that they combined two books: Confessions of a Shopaholic The Shopaholic Takes Manhattan!) Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Greg This Evening ~ Greg worked with Tracy on the mat to stretch and range her major muscles and then it was time for her to go quadriped on the peanut ball. She tolerated about fifteen minutes on her knees over the ball, and then Mom, Greg and Tania got Tracy flat on her stomach in Superman pose. She tolerated about twenty minutes in this position. This is such a good stretch for Tracy! While she was in these postions, Greg put the e-stim on her quads and perispinous muscles to work on muscle re-educaiton. She did a great job! Tuesday, February 17th, 2009 ~ Mom Takes Tiffany To The Dentist This Morning ~ Mom took Tiffany to the dentist for her routine check-up and cleaning this morning. Tracy Has Speech Therapy At NSU With Jodi This Afternoon ~ Jodi worked with Tracy on the new Dynavox with eye gaze. She had set up a game which required Tracy to follow the teddy bear around the screen. When her eyes gazed on the teddy bear, the bear would talk to Tracy. It told her a pretty funny, yet bizarre story about the teddy bear who was going bald! He said that he lost his eye brows and was getting old! Very strange! Tracy did a good job following the bear around the screen, although, it took her some time and some segments were more difficult than others (left, lower corner). She never gave up and worked really, really hard! Good job Tracy! Keep trying hard! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Dee This Evening ~ Tracy had Physical Therapy with Dee this evening. Tania and Dee transferred Tracy to the mat, and then Dee stretched and ranged Tracy's major muscles. He then got behind Tracy and stretched her trunk and shoulders. He noticed that when he ranged her left hip or shoulder, Tracy would wince. Tracy has an appointment this Thursday with Dr. Tidwell at Miami Children's to do some x-rays and to evaluate Tracy's shoulder and hips. Next, Mom sat in front of Tracy and Dee sat behind her, and they passively rowed with Tracy. Just like Tracy's old erg days at UM, she did a good job with hanging in there! Monday, February 16th, 2009 ~ Mom Goes To Hard Body Yoga This Morning ~ Mom went to Hard Body Yoga this morning with Diane. She teaches such a challenging and fun class! Mom loves it! (What's not to love?) Mom Has A Dentist Appointment ~ Mom had a dentist appointment with the oral surgeon to see if her bone graft was ready for the next step, the implant. Looks like she will get the implant March 6th! That means no yoga for one week! Argh! Can she do it? Tiffany & Mom Meet Tammy At Starbucks In Pompano ~ Our good friend Tammy was in Miami for a meeting and rode the Trirail to Pompano Beach for a quick visit with us at Starbucks! Everyone had a good visit and enjoyed seeing her, even if it was for a short time! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Greg This Evening ~ Tracy had Physical Therapy with Greg this evening. He and Tania got Tracy on the mat and did some stretching and ranging of her major muscles. He then got her in long sitting and worked on stretching her trunk and neck. Tiffany Meets Sasha On Miami Beach For Dinner ~ Tiffany had a nice visit with Sasha this evening on Miami Beach. They ate at Versailles, a famous Cuban restaurant. Sahsa was in town to work at the NOAA booth at the Miami Beach Boat Show. Dad, Mom & Tracy Watch 24 This Evening ~ Everyone enjoyed watching their favorite TiVoed show this evening. Sunday, February 15th, 2009 ~ Mom, Dad, Tracy & LuLu Go To 11:30 AM Mass At St. Paul The Apostle Church In Lighthouse Point ~ Everyone went to Mass this morning at 11:30 AM. They were about five minutes late, which didn't seem to matter, since half the congregation still thinks the Mass is at noon instead of 11:30 AM. The Gang Stops At Starbucks Before Going To Aunt Diane's After Mass ~ Everyone had a latte and scone before stopping at Aunt Diane's for a visit. It was nice sitting outside by the pool. Nana was there and everyone exchanged Valentine's Day presents. Aunt Diane had some fresh pineapple chunks that tasted delicious and refreshing in the hot sun! Mom & Dad Go In The Hot Tub This Afternoon ~ Mom and Dad relaxed in the hot tub this afternoon. It was a beautiful day! Dad Goes To Miami To Pick Up Tiffany At The Airport ~ Dad went to Miami International to pick up Tiffany who returned from her brief visit to DC. She had a great weekend with friends. It was steaming hot with 19 yoginis in the room, all using light weights while doing yoga poses! Whew! Tracy Gets A Facial Today ~ If its a facial, it must be Saturday! Wilmene gave Tracy a facial this morning! She sure does love her spa days! Dad Goes To Traditional Hot Yoga This Morning ~ Dad and Mom met each other coming and going this morning, as Dad headed to Traditional Hot Yoga at 10 AM with Veronica! He had a great practice this morning. Tracy Wears Her Yogitoes To Stretch Her Toes This Morning ~ Wilmene put on Tracy's Yogitoes this morning for ten minutes to help stretch her toes. Tracy seems to be tolerating them well! Melanie Comes To Give Tracy A Cranial Sacral Therapy Session ~ Melanie came to work with Tracy on Cranial Sacral massage. Tracy was very vocal and looked as if she was trying to sit up while on the massage table! Her trunk is really getting strong. Aimee Comes To Work On Speech Therapy With Tracy This Afternoon ~ Aimee came to work on Speech Therapy with Tracy this afternoon. She brought Tracy the cutest Hoops and Yo Yo Valentine's Day card that blew kisses, smootches, and muahs! Tracy loved it! Next, Aimee worked with Tracy's Step By Step sequential switch, recording some cute phrases about Valentine's Day! Next, Aimee worked with Tracy on her Dynavox. Tracy seemed to hit the switch on Fieldtrips and Vacations a lot today! Looks like we will have to plan some outings with Tiffany this week! At the end of her session, Mom gave Tracy a bite of King Cake in her Baby Safe Feeder. She chewed it well and got all of the flavor without any danger of aspiration. Tiffany Leaves For Northern Virginia/DC Visit This Afternoon ~ Mom dropped Tiffany off at the trirail station this morning and she headed to the Miami International Airport to catch her flight to DC. She is visiting friends for the weekend and will be back Sunday evening. Tania Shapes Tracy's Eyebrows This Afternoon Outside By The Pool ~ Tania shaped Tracy's eyebrows this afternoon while sitting outside by the pool. She does such a good job with Tracy! Tracy Has Hippotherapy This Afternoon With Susan At Bit By Bit In Parkland ~ Tracy had Hippotherapy with Susan this evening at Bit By Bit. Thursday, February 12th, 2009 ~ Mom & Tiffany Go To Hot Vinyasa Yoga This Morning ~Mom and Tiffany went to a Hot Vinyasa yoga class this morning with Sheila. She is so tough, and an excellent yoga instructor. Mom loves her class! Mom & Tiffany Get Manicures & Pedicures This Afternoon ~ Mom got a manicure and Tiffany got the works this afternoon at Boca Nails. It was just what the girls needed and very relaxing. Then Mom and Tiffany visited their favorite Boca boutiques, The Unique Boutique & TiTi Girl to see Patrizia and Mary. Then they stopped off to visit Nana for a bit! Wilmene Puts Tracy On The CPM This Morning ~ Tracy stretched and ranged her left leg on the CPM this morning for an hour and a half. Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Greg This Evening ~ Tracy had Physical Therapy with Greg this evening. Greg, Mom and Tania got Tracy's ace wraps on and then transferred her to the tilt table. After baseline vital signs were taken, they cranked Tracy up to 30 degrees to establish a good foundation. Then they progressed her 10 degrees every 20 minutes, until they reached 50 degrees. Tracy tolerated 50 degrees for 20 minutes with stable vital signs, which Tania and Greg took every 2 minutes. She did a great job tolerating the various inclines, while weight bearing through her hips! Everyone Watches The Crossover Special Of Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice This Evening ~ Everyone was glued to the TV this evening, watching the crossover event of the season. Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 ~ Mom Deals With More Air Conditioner Issues This Morning ~Another fun day with Climate Control! Argh! This time they got all of the algae flakes out of the system, using the high velocity cleaning process. Now, the upstairs air conditioner is not working! Looks like we will need a new compresser for that one! Isn't homeownership fun? Tracy Goes To NSU Dental School To Get Her Teeth Cleaned ~ Mom, Tiffany and Tania went to NSU to get Tracy's teeth cleaned this afternoon. Tracy was very cooperative and did not require any sedation. They use a jaw rest which helps to safely keep Tracy's mouth open. Her teeth look so clean and shiny! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Greg This Evening ~ Greg came by to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this afternoon. He and Tania got Tracy on the therapy mat and then Greg connected the e-stim to Tracy's quads for Neuromuscular Reeducation. Greg stretched and ranged Tracy's major muscle groups while the e-stim was doing its thing! Then Mom, Greg, and Tania got Tracy prone for stretching on her tummy. Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 ~ Mom Goes To A Double Hot Yoga Class This Morning ~ Mom went to Hot Yoga Flow this morning with Veronica and then stayed for Warm Gentle Yoga with Diane. She needed a double header this morning, especially after the day she had yesterday! It looks like the air conditioner was not fixed and that the technicians will be back tomorrow with their high velocity machine! Oh, the joy! Tiffany & Tracy Sit Outside By The Pool To Get Some Sunshine ~ The girls caught up on their tanning this afternoon before getting ready for Speech Therapy. Tracy Has Speech Therapy At NSU With Jodi This Afternoon ~ Tiffany, Mom, and Tania brought Tracy to Speech Therapy with Jodi this afternoon at NSU. Dr. Lowe showed Tiffany the new eye gaze Dynavox and let her try it. Tiffany was surprised to see it is not as easy as it looks! The machine uses eye gaze and requires a degree of accuracy. Jodi worked with Tracy on the Dynavox, having her look at different large colored squares. Tracy does look but her eyes are fleeting and should improve with practice. Then Jodi worked with Tracy's Dynavox to show Tiffany some of the items that Aimee had programmed for Tracy. Jodi worked on Tracy's Step By Step Sequential switch and also on her oral motor exercises. Before we knew it, the hour session was over. Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Dee This Evening ~ Dee came by to give Tracy a massage and stretching session on the mat. Tracy really needs this dynamic stretching every day! It helps her muscles to stay loose and in tip top condition. Tracy exhibited some left hip and shoulder discomfort when Dee did some rowing stretches with Tracy. Monday, February 9th, 2009 ~ Mom Deals With Air Conditioner Issues Again This Morning ~ Mom is still dealing with mysterious flakes that are blowing out of the air vents in the master bedroom and living room area. This is doubly dangerous because they are landing right on Tracy's bed. Apparently, they are dried algae flakes! She is demanding that the company repeat their cleaning process until they get it right! Michelle Leaves For Massachusetts ~ Cousin Michelle left this afternoon for Massachusetts. We really had a great time with her, and can't wait until she comes back next month! Tracy Gets Her Baclofen Pump Refilled This Afternoon ~ Tiffany, Mom and Wilmene took Tracy to the Cleaveland Clinic to get her Baclofen pump refilled this afternoon. Dr. Galvez decided to keep her at her current dose of 172 mcgs/ day. Greg Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy ~ Greg came by to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this afternoon. He stretched and ranged Tracy's major muscle groups and then did some long sitting with her to work on balance and trunk control. He commented that her left hip seemed tighter than usual. Dad will contact Dr. Tidwell for follow-up this week. Tiffany & Mom Go To Spinning With Aunt Diane & Uncle Johnny This Evening ~ Tiffany and Mom met Aunt Diane and Uncle Johnny this evening at Spinning. Paul taught a great class with awesome music! He is such a great instructor! Tracy Vomits About 6 Ounces This Evening ~ Tracy vomitted about 6 ounces this evening around 7:50 PM. She had not vomited for several months. Sunday, February 8th, 2009 ~ Tracy Eats An Entire Mango Yogurt Monday Afternoon ~ Tracy ate an entire cup of mango yogurt this afternoon. After Wilmene fed Tracy 3 ounces, she started to fuss and Tania asked her if she wanted some more yogurt. She blinked twice for Yes and ate the remaining 3 ounces. She sure does love mango yogurt! She did an awesome job moving the yogurt to the back of her mouth and swallowing well in a timely manner. Michelle Makes Pasta, Italian Gravy, & Meatballs For Dinner This Evening ~ Michelle made an awesome Italian gravy complete with meatballs and sausage. It was soooo good! Everyone Comes Over For Sunday Dinner To Celebrate Anita's Birthday ~ Nana, Uncle Johnny, Aunt Diane, Jeff, Rosemarie, Anita, and Joan came over for dinner this evening. Michelle cooked a delicious Italian gravy with pasta and meatballs. Everyone really enjoyed it. Rosemarie made a delicious chocolate cheese cake and we all sang happy birthday to Anita! Mom Goes To Pick Up Tiffany At The Trirail ~ Tiffany arrived this afternoon from Hawaii for a visit for Tracy's birthday. Mom brought Luna with her to pick up Tiffany at the Trirail Station. Luna was so excited to see Tiffany! It was a beautiful sight! The Girls Go Into The Hot Tub This Afternoon ~ Even though the weather was cold and windy, the girls braved a dip in the hot tub. Nana also enjoyed Liz's soup! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Greg This Afternoon ~ Greg and Tania go Tracy on the tilt table this afternoon for some standing therapy. They gradually got her up to 50 degrees after taking baseline vital signs. They monitor her vital signs every 5 minutes at 30, 40, and 50 degrees, at 20 minute durations, while progressing her to a maximum of 50 degrees. This is so important for Tracy's weight bearing and hemodynamic system. Dad Goes To Traditional Hot Yoga This Evening ~ Dad had a great yoga practice this evening. Liz Arrives This Afternoon For A Short Visit ~ Mom was so happy to see Liz this afternoon when she arrived from DC/Northern Virginia. She will be visiting us until Saturday! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Greg This Afternoon ~ Greg came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this afternoon. Jodi, Tracy's Speech Therapy student clinician from Nova Southeastern University, came by to observe Tracy's therapy session. After Greg stretched and ranged Tracy's major muscle groups, he, Mom, and Tania got Tracy prone to stretch her hips and quads. Tracy tolerated 25 minutes on her tummy! This position is so good for Tracy. Liz Has Dinner With Her Brother & Sister In-Law In Weston ~ Liz had a nice dinner with her brother and sister in-law in Weston this evening. Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 ~ Mom Goes To Traditional Hot Yoga This Morning ~ Mom had a great Traditional Hot Yoga practice this morning with Veronica. The heat panels are repaired and working in full force. Tracy Has Speech Therapy With Jodi This Afternoon At NSU ~ Tracy had Speech Therapy with Jodi this afternoon at NSU. Today, Dr. Lowe and Jodi tried a new Dynavox with eye gaze capability. The machine measures Tracy's eyes to calibrate her eye gaze. Then Jodi worked with Tracy on the new machine, encouraging her to look at various pictures such as a ball, a duck, a car, and a penguin. Tracy caught on to the process and worked very hard to focus her eyes in the proper quadrant, following the specific pictures. She became frustrated when she was unable to focus on the picture long enough to change the picture to a colored block. Dr. Lowe and Jodi plan to work with the new Dynavox a little each week, so that Tracy will get better with her eye gaze. Baby steps! Baby steps! Tracy's Physical Therapy With Dee Is Cancelled This Evening ~ Tracy's Physical Therapy was cancelled this evening due to Dee's busy work schedule. Mom & Tania Put Tracy On The CPM Machine This Evening ~ Tracy stretched and ranged her hips and hamstrings for an hour and a half on each leg this evening, in place of her therapy. Sunday, February 1st, 2009 ~ Mom, Dad, Tracy, LuLu, Luca & Luna Go For A Walk Around The Neighborhood This Morning ~ Mom, Dad, Tracy and LuLu took Luca and Luna for a walk this morning. It was a little chilly and partly cloudy today with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s. Brr! At least it is a lot warmer than up north! Mom & Dad Relax In The Hot Tub This Afternoon ~ Mom and Dad took a break and went in the hot tub this afternoon. The water was 103 degrees and very steamy! Mom braved the pool temperature (62 degrees) and took a quick dip before getting out. It was very Swedish! Everyone Comes Over For Superbowl Sunday & Dinner ~ Nana, Uncle Johnny, Aunt Diane and Jeff came over for dinner this evening. Jeff brought fresh string beans for Mom to steam and Mom grilled tilapia (for Nana) and salmon. Aunt Diane made a salad and Mom cooked some tricolor tortellini! It was really delicious! Jeff brought mini eclairs, cream puffs, and Mom's favorite cookies (kitchen sink)! Soo good! Nana & Tracy Watch Nadal Beat Federer In The Finals At The Australian Open This Afternoon ~ Nana and Tracy watched Federer get beaten by Nadal at the Australian Open. It lasted longer than five hours! What a great match! Nana was glad that Nadal won! Everyone Watches Superbowl XLXXX This Evening ~ What an exciting Superbowl game! Even though everyone was rooting for the underdogs: the Arizona Cardinals and Kurt Warner, they were happy to see the winning pass performed by a local boy from Pahokee: Holmes.
